Dispatcher – Flatbed
OTR Trucking and Logistics Company is seeking a transportation dispatcher. We specialize in transportation of new and used Capital Equipment on Flatbeds, Conestoga’s, Step-Decks, and Double Drops. Ideal candidate must have flatbed transportation experience, specifically in dispatch. Candidate must be able to perform in a fast paced environment moving loads on company owned equipment, acquiring backhauls using our database of approved brokers or load boards, quoting on spot bids and RFQs (requests for quote) for customers, building on existing carrier base, and acquiring carrier rates.
College degree preferred but not required
Business decision making skills- ability to envision and implement strategies aligned with the Company’s objectives
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Computer literacy is a must.
Superior customer-service skills.
Demonstrated leadership abilities with effective organizational planning and prioritization skills
Ability to multi-task and work with other team members
Strong, competitive negotiating skills
Thorough knowledge of DOT rules and FMCSA regulations.
Elogs and hours of service
Experience in over-dimensional and over-weight shipments is a plus.
