Assistant for Performing Arts professional

OVERVIEW

Unique field of work! Seeking a dedicated Personal Assistant for administrative and general assistance to our artistic director, Antara Datta, who is a seasoned Indian Kathak-dance teacher and performer. The ideal candidate will have experience in the performing arts industry, as well as be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling various tasks efficiently.

This position is part time (3 days/week, 4 hrs/day) with a break from June 21 until August 5. Must come to our center in Solon, Ohio most days but can work remotely sometimes. Pay will be $13.75 - $15.66 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.

There will be two weeks required to travel to Seattle for a concert arranged by her dance company, roughly from May 27 until June 8 (all expenses paid, extra wages provided for the additional time).

DUTIES

- Research Arts grants and funding opportunities in federal, state and local levels

- Represent the organization in different events of grant agencies

- Book concerts for the organization locally, nationally and internationally

- Help in writing smaller grants

- Run errands and perform office duties at our main location outside of Cleveland, Ohio

- Utilize software such as Google Suite for various tasks

- Update and maintain aspects of the organization’s social media, specifically on Instagram and Facebook

SPECIAL NOTE

A few times a year, you must be ready to travel within the United States for 1-2 weeks when there is a big concert going on. During this time, all expenses will be covered and you will be paid a daily wage above the normal 4 hour work day.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Proven experience in the performing arts industry

- Proven experience in an administrative or clerical role

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite

- Strong organizational and time-management skills

- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

- Familiarity with office equipment and procedures
