Position Overview

Our client seeks an experienced Production Supervisor to lead and manage the operations of a fast-paced, high-quality manufacturing facility. This role plays a critical part in ensuring smooth production processes, maintaining quality standards, and driving operational efficiency while fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement. The role covers the night shift.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership and Development

Directly oversee the activities of production personnel, ensuring efficient and effective operations.

Provide coaching, performance feedback, and leadership to team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

Conduct regular training sessions to upskill employees in production techniques, safety practices, and quality control.

Manage workforce planning, including shift schedules, holiday planning, and attendance tracking.

Operational Excellence

Control quality, quantity, and all aspects of production processes to meet customer demands and internal standards.

Collaborate with departments such as Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Logistics to ensure seamless workflow and timely delivery of products.

Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement, implement solutions, and achieve operational targets.

Minimize scrap, optimize material usage, and reduce waste through the application of lean manufacturing principles.

Monitor machine performance and coordinate with maintenance teams for timely repairs and preventive maintenance.

Safety and Compliance

Uphold a strong culture of workplace safety, ensuring all team members adhere to OSHA and internal safety standards.

Conduct safety audits, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to mitigate hazards.

Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and the functionality of all safety devices.

Prepare accident reports, investigate root causes, and implement preventive measures.

Process Improvement

Develop, document, and maintain production procedures, including quality systems and organic production methods.

Participate in cross-functional meetings to solve production challenges and facilitate communication across teams.

Lead initiatives to continuously improve production efficiency and align with the company’s quality policies and long-term goals.

Reporting and Accountability

Maintain accurate records of production metrics, including scrap rates, rework costs, and downtime.

Prepare and present weekly and monthly reports to management, providing insights on production trends, risks, and opportunities.

Act as a liaison between production teams and senior leadership, ensuring alignment on priorities and objectives.

Qualifications:

Experience and Education

5–7 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting, or a combination of degree and relevant work experience. Ideally having managed more than 50 production employees.

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Industrial Management, Engineering, or Business Administration, is required.

Skills and Competencies

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Demonstrated experience in applying lean manufacturing principles and driving process improvements.

Proven leadership ability, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to motivate and guide teams.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with production software or ERP systems.

Knowledge of quality management systems and environmental standards.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and lift as necessary to oversee production activities.

Comfortable working in environments with moving machinery, vibration, and exposure to raw materials.
