Hours: Monday - Thursday 6:00am - 4:30pm
Job Function:
Set-up and operate CNC machines to produce high quality finished pieces to exacting tolerances and interrelated dimensions.
Essential Functions:
Select and install the appropriate tooling and stops.
Follow procedures for starting, stopping, inspecting the quality of the materials, and work in process.
Inspect and measure workpieces to ensure that the dimensions meet specifications.
Detect faulty operation or defective materials; correct or report to supervisor.
Remove finished workpieces from machines and place them in boxes or on racks; set aside pieces that are defective.
Complete work in a timely manner, according to departmental schedules.
Additional Responsibilities:
Maintain a clean work environment, including surrounding areas and equipment.
Perform basic maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating machine parts. Make sure all moving parts are oiled on the machine.
Thoroughly and accurately maintain job and production records.
Watch delivery schedules.
Work to improve quality and production while limiting the waste of product.
Observe all safety and health regulations.
Perform other company-related duties as required.
Qualifications:
Experience as a CNC machine set-up operator in a close tolerance manufacturing environment using M codes and G codes. Prefer 3 + years of set up/program experience
Able to accurately read and interpret blueprints and job routings.
Able to solve tooling and set-up problems with minimal technical supervision.
Proficient in the use of all precision measuring equipment including mechanical, optical, and computer-assisted measuring equipment.
Self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to perform close visual work.
Dependable and efficient.
Ability to take direction from others.
