Description We are seeking a meticulous Payroll Clerk to join our team located in Cleveland, Ohio. The selected candidate will be an integral part of our financial team, primarily handling payroll processes, including data entry and other related tasks. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity, providing a hybrid work schedule with both on-site and remote work.Responsibilities: Oversee the execution of payroll processes and ensure accuracy in all transactions Manage all payroll-related data entry tasks, ensuring timely and accurate input of information Work closely with the director of Payroll to manage and resolve any payroll discrepancies Assist in the preparation of financial reports related to payroll as required Maintain confidentiality and adhere to financial policies and procedures Handle high volume workload, ensuring all tasks are completed within given deadlines Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, to manage and organize payroll data Apply problem-solving skills to handle and resolve any issues independently Comprehend and work with numerical data, performing basic mathematical operations as required Adhere to and maintain the hybrid work schedule, being present on-site when required. Requirements Proven experience in a payroll clerk role or similar is essential Proficiency in payroll software and data entry is required Excellent numerical abilities and problem-solving skills are crucial High level of accuracy and attention to detail is necessary Solid understanding of payroll and payroll tax laws is a plus Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are needed Ability to handle confidential information with discretion is essential Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is beneficial Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines is necessary High school diploma or equivalent is a minimum requirement; further education in finance or business is a plus.
