Founded in 1837, Cuyahoga County’s safety-net health system operates four hospitals, four emergency departments and more than 20 health centers.Summary:Manages the daily operations, of the Central Sterile Processing Department (CSPD). Coordinates the reprocessing of all supplies and equipment used throughout the health care facility. Responsible for all processing functions that include decontamination, preparation and packaging, terminal sterilization or sanitation, preparation of surgical case carts, and linen packs. Responsible for the case cart management system to include day-to-day surgical case needs are met in accordance with schedules and workflows. Accountable for ongoing operations, including equipment, instrumentation supply and repair management. Utilizes quality/productivity and performance metrics to drive quality outcomes, labor utilization and productivity. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.Qualifications:Qualifications:Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and two years combined recent Surgical Services/Central Processing and supervisory experience with demonstrated progressive management experience.

In lieu of degree, at least 5 years of relevant experience in a CSPD leadership role.

Certification in Central Processing or obtains within 12 months of hire.

Possesses strong leadership and communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships with all members of the heath care team.

Proven PC skills to include experience with word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.

Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.Preferred:

Master’s Degree in business, healthcare management, or nursing

Certification in Central Processing Management.

Working knowledge of an automated inventory control system.Physical Demands:

May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently during the day.

May need to sit or stand for extended periods.

Ability to use computer.

Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.
