Founded in 1837, Cuyahoga County’s safety-net health system operates four hospitals, four emergency departments and more than 20 health centers.Summary:Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or a Physician in the assigned patient/resident care area, provides direct nursing care for assigned patients/residents, infant through adult. Provides nursing services to patients, residents and families in accordance with the scope of the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.Qualifications:Required:

Graduate of an approved School of Practical Nursing.

Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the State of Ohio through the Ohio Board of Nursing, including certification to pass medications, AND completion of an Ohio Board of Nursing IV therapy course.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification through the American Heart Association (AHA), OR obtains within 90 days of hire.

Proficient with performing venipuncture and blood specimen collection.

Basic computer skills.

Ability to multi-task by managing/working EPIC In-basket, monitoring and directing patient flow, and providing patient care in a coordinated manner at the completion of the orientation period. This includes the ability to manage 14-45 residents upon the completion of the orientation period (Long Term Care only).

Access to reliable transportation to travel between facilities if needed based on operational needs.Preferred:

1 year of experience in an in-patient or long term care setting, as appropriate.

Familiarity with rules and regulations associated with in-patient or long term care, as appropriate.Physical Requirements:

May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently during the day.

May need to sit or stand for extended periods.

See in the normal visual range with or without correction.

Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.

Ability to lift 250-300 pounds with assistance.

Ability to push/pull up to 500 pounds with assistance.

Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.

Requires some exposure to chemicals.
