You will have the chance to partner with key Institute or Enterprise leaders to manage CI (Continuous Improvement) activity and projects. Instructs and coaches continuous improvement and project management at all levels of the organization.The Future Caregiver is someone who:

Independently lead operational teams' knowledge of the Cleveland Clinic Improvement Model (CCIM) including but not limited to Organizational alignment, Visual management, Problem-solving, and Standardization.

Creating and maintaining CCIM program efforts across the assigned area, independently

Leads large or complex projects leveraging advanced continuous improvement and project management tools within assigned area.

Teach, coach, and mentor leadership down to frontline caregivers, and any CI members as requested (CI I & IIs) on continuous improvement best practices.

Build capability in customers and CI team members in the form of analyzing and measuring the effectiveness of existing processes to develop sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable process improvements in moderate to large sized areas independently.

Ability to manage a portfolio of large improvement activities capturing quantifiable results

Research best practices within and outside the organization and apply learnings to assigned area

Can lead, train, and advise on the collection and analyzation of process data to initiate, develop and recommend practices and procedures that focus on enhanced safety, increased productivity and reduced cost.

Independently establishes effective working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, and external to the organization, to achieve mutually beneficial results.

Ability to track and maintain success metrics alongside CI Program Director.

Can demonstrate flexibility and adaptability within a team.

Identifies the relevant need for the organization, develops and executes a plan to address this need while applying the Continuous Improvement model.

Assists CI I and CI II in navigating organizational politics/climate.

Utilizes customer orientation and ability to clearly match support tools and services to the needs of stakeholders.

Partnering with operational leaders to drive decision making for the success of the business.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree required

Master's Degree required

In lieu of Master's Degree, 6 years of process improvement experience or a Lean Certification may suffice

Certifications:

Project Management Professional (PMP) or Lean Certification preferred

Complexity of Work:

Demonstrate knowledge of quality tools, lean foundation elements and change management.

Lead data analysis sessions and speak about the drive/watch metric dashboard without assistance. Can build graphs and charts from raw data and interpret them meaningfully.

Display a solid understanding of core industry concepts, the state of the industry and how it applies to our work, CCHS organization and design, systems, culture, politics, key players, and core processes.

Can independently communicate (written/verbal/presentation) with individuals inside and outside our organization and at all levels (exec through front line) with clarity of message and effective listening capability to achieve several goals: influence, inform, understand, resolve and reduce ambiguity, etc.

Understands the core concepts of Lean and can utilize them to achieve dramatic results (using tools like process mapping, visual management, standard work, demand analysis, basic statistics, observation methods, VSM, Material pull, project management, control plans, FMEA, productivity management, kaizen, flow diagrams, spaghetti diagrams, fishbone diagram, cause & effect, brainstorming, 5 Whys, root cause corrective action, pareto principle, histograms)

Work Experience:

Minimum six years business or healthcare experience

Four-year process improvement or project management

Experience in transformation or change agent role within an organization engaged in a Lean transformation preferred

Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with all organizational levels, including senior management down to the frontline caregivers

Health care experience preferred

Demonstrated ability to teach/coach/influence/ advise leadership at all levels regarding continuous improvement principles and practices and role of leader in a continuous improvement organization

Has coached and trained leadership and frontline caregivers on execution of kaizen process.
