Job Overview
As a Personal Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in various care settings, including retirement homes, assisted living facilities, and group homes. Your primary responsibility will be to provide compassionate support and assistance to clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This position requires a dedicated individual who is passionate about helping others and committed to upholding resident rights.
Duties
Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the overall quality of life for residents.
Monitor and record vital signs as needed, ensuring any changes are communicated to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
Support individuals with developmental disabilities in their daily routines and community involvement.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by assisting with light housekeeping tasks.
Respect and uphold resident rights while providing care in accordance with established protocols.
Collaborate with other healthcare team members to develop and implement personalized care plans.
Qualifications
Experience in home care, assisted living, or working with individuals in group homes is preferred but not required, will train.
Knowledge of meal preparation techniques that cater to dietary restrictions or preferences.
Familiarity with vital signs monitoring and basic health assessments is a plus.
Strong understanding of resident rights and the importance of maintaining dignity in care.
Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to assist others in their daily lives.
Certification or training in personal care assistance or related fields is advantageous but not required.
