Performs Stereotactic breast biopsies to include scheduling exam with patient, post procedure follow up of patients to include phone call, obtaining biopsy results, faxing to referring physician, tracking in appropriate systems and informing radiologist of results.Minimum Education Required:

Associate of Science Degree in Radiology Technology. Registered as a Radiologic Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology

Years of Experience:

Prefers one year experience in mammography but will train. Must agree to obtain advanced board certification in mammography.

Clinical:

Performs mammographic and DEXA procedures in accordance with established protocols, which includes, but is not limited to, reviewing for appropriateness and completeness of patient histories and requested services. Explains procedures to patients.

Prepares images, prior studies and paperwork including patient history and location of previous films. Submits completed studies to the radiologists for interpretation. Faxes release form to appropriate facility for release of previous mammograms. Follows up films are received in timely manner. Digitizes images, ensures images are available for radiologist in Dx Secure View.

Maintains appropriate records and supplies. Assists with meeting all requirements for the different accreditations.

Participates in continuing education activities related to the field of Mammography. Obtains and maintains required licensure. Demonstrates and maintains skill in providing care for patients of specific age groups, such as adult and geriatric, through in-service and continuing education.
