Through our robust product engineering, outstanding tooling capabilities and diverse process expertise, we continue to bring lightweight and innovative products to market.Summary of ResponsibilitiesThis position will provide leadership and accountability to ensure that all aspects of material handling are conducted proficiently to include: Manufacturing information systems; warehouse storage; oversee forklift activities.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Lead all forklifts personnel that report to this position, including training and development, communication and enforcement of company policies and procedures, performance coaching and evaluation and written documentation of performance issues

Lead and provide direction to Material Handlers

Liaison with Production scheduling to ensure timely shipping and flow of material throughout the facility

Work with material handlers and lead to establish conveyance routes.

Concentrate on improving score on MAFACT 4.5 (Internal material flow, line feeding, and material presentation)

Monitor customer website for product information that is applicable for shipping activities

Maintain effective communication and coordination with all internal customer and team members; maintain positive team member relations; listen to issues and concerns and respond within 24 hours.

Follow the principles of the Magna Team member Charter

Promote and practice “safety first” by immediately addressing any hazards, defective equipment or unsafe conditions with the department

Support new launch programs

Report status of departmental projects

Handle confidential information on a regular basis

Conduct performance evaluations of material handling staff.

Promote and facilitate Open Door process without reprisal, effective communication and Fair Treatment

Lead all Continues Improvement activities

Ensure FIFO is being performed

Adhere to customer requirements, BOS

Maintain/Coordinate all service shipments

Investigate department problems and difficulties. Develop solutions to remedy problems and implement solutions.

Schedule/Track forklift repairs

Container Management

Leader Health & Safety Responsibilities

Ensure Team Members use or wear the protective equipment required by Vehtek Systems Advise Team Members of any potential hazards and/or provide written instructions as to the measures to protect the Team Member

Take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of a Team Member and report any known contravention out of their control to their BU Leader/Manager

Conduct accident / incident investigations and implement corrective actions and Continued Improvements

Conduct monthly safety inspections and implement corrective actions

Correct unsafe acts or conditions

Correct or commends health & safety performance

Adhere to and comply with and exceed where possible all applicable federal, state, and OSHA environmental, health and safety laws, regulations, external & internal standards and other requirements in all of its operations which relate to its health, safety and environmental aspects

Qualifications

Able to demonstrate understanding of how job performance affects product quality and customer satisfaction

Able to work well with others; build and maintain positive Team Member relations

Able to prepare, read and interpret written reports, instructions, procedures and guidelines

Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, Team Members, suppliers and customers

Able to maintain confidentiality, and use discretion and tact

Able to manage and schedule multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Able to work flexible and additional hours

Able to use computer and software as required

Able to work in various locations within and outside (i.e. other locations) the plant.

Able to travel as required

Able to communicate in front of an audience during training and/or meetings

Able to work under the pressure of meeting schedules, personnel issues, department deadlines, and multiple priorities

Education, Skills and Experience Required

Must have excellent human management skills, be decisive and always set a good example

Must have positive attitude

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

College diploma in Materials Management or equivalent work experience.

Good mathematical, organizational and communication skills

Strong computer skills.

Honest with high integrity

Knowledge of automotive customer requirements

Knowledge of Quality processes and procedures

Work Environment

Plant environment characterized by temperature extremes, loud noise and considerable tow motor traffic

Pressure caused by deadlines, interruptions, personnel problems and multiple priorities

Personal support for three shifts and weekend production schedules

Able to work with and communicate with production, tool room, and maintenance personnel in management meetings

Work with customers and suppliers

Handle multiple priorities and able to meet deadlines

Flexible hours and able to work overtime

The individual must be able to perform all essential functions as needed on the plant floor, in meetings and with Team Members, suppliers, management and customers
