Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Coordinate activities and training of shift mill operators and welders

Instruct teammates in proper work methods and standards.

Monitor crew work quality and ensure adherence to safe work practices.

Document and provide performance feedback and input into performance reviews.

Ability to understand scheduling.

Understand and implement all safety policies and procedures.

Coach and mentor teammates on work instructions, JHA's and production equipment.

Monitor production and production paperwork to ensure it is being followed and performed to standard.

Ability to identify areas of improvement in safety, quality, cost, and productivity.

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Production Lead will be an integral member of the Nucor Skyline team who understands the production environment, brings a strong and consistent work ethic, and demonstrates a commitment to the safety and success of the team. A successful candidate must be able to work independently as well as in a group and must be willing and able to work all shifts, not to exclude weekends and holidays as operating conditions require. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, and procedures at all times.

High School Diploma or GED

Minimum of three (3) years in a manufacturing industry or high pace production environment

Leadership training or experience

Preferences:

Vocational or technical school certificate in related area

Experience with scheduling

Possess knowledge in all areas of the production environment.
