Actalent is seeking a highly skilled Software/Embedded Engineer to join a multi-disciplined team of engineers and scientists to develop custom software applications that fuse hardware control, test execution, and video and data processing to lead state-of-the-art programs for the Air Force Research Laboratory.Primary responsibilities for this role will include:
Develop and maintain custom software applications using C# the .NET framework
Manage the entire software process including use case definition, system architecture, coding, test, integration, and documentation
Develop applications integrating COTS and custom hardware components, data acquisition and system control, real-time image manipulation, and data processing and communication
Participate in Air Force test and training activities (some travel may be required)
Candidate may also be called upon for duties outside of software programming such as test support, systems design, etc.
Additional Skills & Qualifications::
B.S. or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or closely related field (other engineering disciplines may be considered based on relevant education, skills, and experience)
3+ years professional experience in software development with embedded experience
C# and.NET programming experience
Experience writing software to control equipment and experiments
Due to security requirements, U.S. citizenship is required, and the candidate must be able to secure a SECRET clearance
Preferences:
Asynchronous and multi-threaded programming
Software implementation of image capture and video processing
Communication protocols such as TCP/IP, RS-232/422, IEEE-488
API utilization
DAQ device specification and programming
