Shift: Monday - Friday, 6am- 2pmThe role of the CNC Machinist/Setup is to produce machined parts and assist operators in setting up, editing/writing programs, operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine, maintaining quality and safety standards, performing first/final inspections, record keeping, and maintenance of equipment and supplies.  Assist supervisor in coordinating activities of workers engaged in various processes, utilizing knowledge of equipment, procedures and specifications.Essential Functions/ResponsibilitiesSuccessfully operate CNC lathe and mill machines within acceptable standards with little to no supervision.Effectively train and assist Machinists on:Adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.Accurately and efficiently setting up and operating numerous machines within acceptable standards.Competently working from blueprints, drawings and production orders which may include diameters, radii and angles. Identifying and correcting faults from blueprints.Creating and editing programs as needed to produce high quality parts with 7+ dimensions and within tolerances of +/-.0005, +/-.005.Mathematically deciphering print dimensions using apparent information.Accurately determine correct tooling for each job if not specified based on part, print, or program, and:Identify and fix material and tooling failures.Perform minor touch-up sharpening of tooling.Perform accurate first piece inspections and final inspections on active work orders in the machine shop.  Maintain appropriate documentation and paperwork while operating machines and in association with first piece and final inspections.Regularly gather required information on timesheets and routings to include but not limited to accurate run time, program number, and cut sizes, and provide to supervisor for ERP update.Read and interpret drawings, and set up machines in accordance with the blueprints to:Create instructions for CNC Machinists.Determine sequence of operations in a program.Create and modify programs at the machine, as needed.Write program and modify existing programs for increased efficiency.Adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while ensuring quality requirements.Collaborate with Engineering, Quality and other CNC Machinists to ensure programs are accurate.Maintain CNC program version information utilizing Cimco DNC software.Why work for Pyrotek Aurora?  Check out our Video!Competitive compensation and benefit plansCollaborative, innovative, and team environmentPopcorn Thursday's!Low turnover and high retention!  A lot of our employees have been here for over 20 years!And bottom line, just darn nice people!Click the I'm Interested button so our hiring team can review your application and schedule time to speak with you soon! What happens next?  Once you submit your application / resume, a member of the recruiting team will send you an email with a self-schedule link to speak with one of our Recruiters.  Watch your email for that link!
