Independent microscopy laboratory, seeking motivated qualified Lab Personnel for dynamic production schedule. Students and retirees are welcome. Previous laboratory experience and local candidates are preferred.
The Lab Personnel are responsible for sample identification as it relates to log entry, and for following & performing ASTM, ISO, IP, Mil Spec & NAS protocols. Work includes raw material, intermediate and finished product sampling. Supervision directs assignment and schedule.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Test sample products according to written directions. Record results; if findings are outside of specified range,
notify supervisor of nonconformity.
Participate in instrumentation and reagent calibration according to the written methods and schedule.
Maintains Laboratory NIST traceability / chain of custody
Gather raw material, process or finished product composite and grab samples. Label samples and test or store as
directed.
Participate in laboratory and instrument upkeep according to written methods and schedule. Prepare and label
laboratory standards and reagents.
Compile records and initiate communications for authorizing sample batch for analysis, documentation and
unloading to end customer.
Participate in development and improvement project sampling and testing.
Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies.
Comply with HAN policies, procedures and work instructions pertaining to safety; attend safety seminars.
Report accident or injury immediately. Intervene in unsafe situations; report unsafe conditions or equipment.
Employ personal protective equipment (PPE) where called for.
Understand potential hazards and follow safety equipment and PPE standards.
Rotate shift or remain on-call for urgent circumstances. Climb, kneel, lift and tolerate inclement weather.
Communicate during emergency hear and distinguish alarms and other audible signals.

Moisture & Titrations
Absorption & Emission spectroscopy
Flash & Quench
Various other duties as assigned
TIME:
Part Time - Flexible Work Schedule
2 to 3 Days a week; Some weekends as needed.
3 to 4 hours a Day
REQUIRMENTS:
Chemistry – Physics – Engineering disciplines knowledge or background
High level of talent at using EXCEL spreadsheets as well as working knowledge of Microsoft Office;
Good at compiling and interpreting large volumes of data;
Good understanding of instrumental analysis and principles of analytical chemistry;
Experience using a breadth of chemical methods/instrumentation;
Very high level of organization and attention to detail;
Positive, upbeat attitude is a must;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Ability to multi-task and stay on top of many projects at the same time;
Ability to perform repetitive tasks with a high level of success;
Desire to continuously learn and develop new methods and technologies;
A penchant for perfection and an eagerness to learn, contribute, and excel;
Requires standing, lifting up to 25-30 lbs.
Requires walking, climbing, speaking, writing, listening, color determination and clarity of vision at 2 feet or more
(with or without lenses);
Able to distinguish between color variations such as green, red, magenta and amber;
Able to stand and move for 2 to 3 hours;
Must be punctual, reliable, and dependable;
Must be legally able to work in the US, local candidates are preferred.
