Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Human Resources (HR) Assistant based in Akron, Ohio. The role is primarily involved in the recruitment process, employee onboarding, and administrative tasks within the HR department. The HR Assistant will work closely with staffing agencies, handle new hire terminations under HR direction, and maintain daily attendance records of all factory workers.Responsibilities: Collaborate with staffing agencies to recruit new hires Facilitate consistent communication with HR regarding all aspects of hiring Execute terminations of new hires under HR direction Evaluate candidate applications and resumes, and conduct in-person and telephone interviews Complete reference and background checks, and organize new hire pre-employment/drug screenings Manage the onboarding process for all new hires, including paperwork and training Submit reports to management regarding hiring efforts Track new hires and submit daily attendance Submit hours to staffing agencies on a weekly basis Assist in maintaining daily attendance records of all factory workers Maintain accurate employee records and paperwork Assist the HR department with any administrative tasks as needed Utilize skills in Onboarding, Terminations, Background Checks, Drug Screens, Recruiting, Phone Interview, Conduct Interviews, Scheduling Appointments - Calendar Management, and Report Generation. Requirements Demonstrable experience in human resources or related field Proficiency in conducting onboarding and termination procedures Ability to execute background checks and drug screens in compliance with company policies Experience in recruiting, phone interviews, and conducting in-person interviews Proficient in scheduling and calendar management Ability to generate and present reports as required Strong verbal and written communication skills Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion Knowledge of HR laws and regulations Proficiency in using HR software and computer systems Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
