Assists in evaluating, selecting, adapting, and modifying standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Ensures compliance with design criteria and standards. Ensures designs by vendors and company are constructed efficiently and effectively. Applies basic scientific and engineering principles and methods, along with technical skills. Performs technical reviews and audits of project designs for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with design standards. Creates project notifications and capital request forms for new projects. Provides technical assistance to Engineer Technicians, Engineers, or Project Managers assigned to projects. Participates on committees and special technical teams. Reviews, analyze, and create project scope and estimates based off of engineering and operations information. Provide and assist with engineers, including scoping, scheduling, budget development, and cost tracking to meet cost and time objectives. Make design recommendations based on design requirements, budget, and time frame for specific projects and entire plans. Perform other duties as requested or assigned.Additional Duties may include:This position is for the Planning and Prioritizing Team (PPT) and is responsible for the support and oversight of all capital budgets. The successful candidate will partner with other PPT team members to analyze information, develop project scopes and high level estimates for capital projects in throughout Ohio. Also responsible for prioritizing multiple projects to ensure budgets and timelines are met. The successful candidate will be leading meetings with design, operations, and modelers to ensure all requirements are met.Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & ExperienceMinimum Requirements (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications):Design Coordinator II Associate degree with 3+ years’ experience in Engineering or related field OR High school diploma or GED with 5+ years' experience in Engineering or related field Knowledge of engineering design principles, theories, and practices. Knowledge of budgeting practices. Ability to apply knowledge, techniques, skills, and modern tools of mathematics, science, engineering, and technology, to develop project scopes and estimates. Effective oral, writing, and graphical communication skills, including technical writing. Ability to identify and use appropriate technical literature. Ability to function effectively independently, and as a member of a planning and prioritizing team. Good organizational and project management skills. Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of applicable software programs such as Microsoft Excel.Design Coordinator III Associate degree with 5+ years’ experience in Engineering or related field OR High school diploma or GED with 7+ years' experience in Engineering or related field In-depth knowledge of engineering design principles, theories, and practices. In-depth knowledge of budgeting practices. Ability to apply knowledge, techniques, skills, and modern tools of mathematics, science, engineering, and technology, to develop project scopes and estimates. Strong oral, writing, and graphical communication skills, including technical writing. Ability to identify and use appropriate technical literature. Ability to function effectively independently, and as a member of a planning and prioritizing team. Excellent organizational and project management skills.
