The Communications Specialist works closely with the Director of Public Relations to manage and strategize the districts internal and external communications.

Basic job functions include, but are not limited to the following:]{segoe="" ui",sans-serif"=""}

Promotes district information to the media to inform the public.

Executes the districts mission, vision, and belief statements.

Advertise school board meetings and events.

Assists Director of Public relations to serve as a point of contact for the media for routine and crisis communications on behalf of the Superintendent and school district.

Promotes and facilitates positive relationships and information networks with local, state and community organizations.

May serve on various community committees as the district representative.

Works closely with the Director of Public Relations to ensure messaging is projected to school district standards and promotes a positive image of the school district using all possible resources.

Responsible for managing and updating the district website.

Responsible for overseeing social media pages associated with the district.

Interacts with students in the schools, on occasion, when covering events and writing stories for social media platforms and websites.

Occasionally attends athletic events and activities at the high school to take photos, post updates, and spread awareness on the district level.

Update and distribute weekly Coyote Corner to all staff, parents, and community members.

The Communications Specialist (Intern) will perform a variety of tasks such as organizing school district events, manage advertising and communication of events, and increasing public awareness.

Assist in creating fliers, brochures, and other print communications.

Aid in the preparation of presentations or speeches.

Other duties as assigned.

This position does not follow a set schedule and requires working some evenings and weekends, on occasion. The ideal candidate is flexible, positive, a team-player, possesses strong communication skills (verbal and technical writing), and has experience in graphic design and technology systems
