Employee focused.JOB SUMMARYJob Profile SummaryResponsible for environmental compliance, remediation and company support to operating segments and construction projects through the application of environmental regulations in accordance with the company mission, vision, and values.Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Collaborate with a mentor to navigate more complex compliance requirements, organizational procedures and tools, regulatory applicability determinations and identification of compliance requirements and tasks.
Coordinate and facilitate environmental permitting prior to, during, and after construction for maintenance, growth and large capital projects.
Gather operating and project data and enter into templates to facilitate compliance evaluation or reporting.
Perform field inspections at operating assets, construction or remediation projects to identify compliance improvement opportunities.
Provide data gathering and analysis for emerging regulatory issues in support of Industry Association committees or the company's emerging issues management.
Facilitate individual environmental programs with the goal of developing an understanding of the programs and applicability to the company.
Utilize established procedures and tools to facilitate and demonstrate compliance.
Receive and review operating, construction or remediation reports and compliance inspections and provide a cursory review to compare to compliance obligations.
Oversee field based contract and consultant resources that provide compliance support to operations and projects. Development of requests for proposals, proposal evaluations, work offers and work authorizations are done in conjunction with a more experienced professional.
Gather data to support the development of permit applications for construction and remediation projects and operating assets.
Work within an already established system to provide data management and environmental records maintenance for a facility or area.
Assist in assessing (data gathering, emergency response actions, determining reportability) spill/response scenarios.
Manage the handling and shipping of hazardous, non-hazardous, universal, and industrial waste.
Collect environmental field samples (air, water, and waste) for analysis.
Education
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in environmental, natural science, engineering preferred and/or a combination of education and the following job related experience:
Work Experience
This role is typically attained through 1 - 2 years related experience in field operations and/or environmental compliance.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of: state and federal environmental regulations and standards.
Ability to: analyze, research, compile, and prepare permit applications, logs, reports, and correspondence and company responses to agency requests.
Ability to: evaluate, research, and interpret governmental regulations, equipment performance manuals, regulatory agency guidance and instructions, reports, correspondence, and company policies and procedures.
Ability to: pay attention to details.
Ability to: apply math and algebraic formulas.
Ability to: interact, advise and communicate effectively, exchange information/provide instructions, conduct verbal presentations.
Ability to: develop communications utilizing fundamental technical writing skills.
Ability to: present training materials.
Ability to: utilize office equipment including computers and applicable job related software, including Microsoft Office tools.
Ability to: conduct work in an elevated lift or other elevated locations.
