[[Position Description:

[The Vice President for Student Affairs (VPSA) reports directly to the President as the Chief Student Affairs Officer of the University. The VPSA serves as a member of the Presidents Executive Leadership team, responsible for the successful implementation of VCSUs strategic plan and serves in a leadership role as the University representative on the North Dakota University System Student Affairs Council. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations in the Department for Student Affairs which includes the following areas: bookstore, career services, counseling, crisis management, dining services, diversity services, financial aid, health services, international student services, judicial affairs, new student orientation, first year experience, parent services, residential life, retention services, student center, student activities, Student Government Association, and other administrative as assigned. The VPSA is also responsible for federal compliance with Title IX, fire safety, crime statistics, and campus safety. The VPSA establishes and implements operating procedures to facilitate recruitment, matriculation, retention, graduation of students and implements activities which complement and enhance the academic programming of the University. This position enriches the experience and the development of students, including co-curricular activity creation, student conduct adjudication, and residential life programming. The VPSA provides strategic vision for the assessment and quality improvement initiatives for the Department.[The VPSA oversees the Department for Student Affair's budget of $4.4 million and all its administrative units and supervises 15 professional and support staff.
