CommonSpirit Health is committed to creating healthier communities, delivering exceptional patient care, and ensuring every person has access to quality health care.ResponsibilitiesJob Summary / PurposeLead Laundry Aide launders, distributes and stores washable linen, garments, and personal clothing to ensure availability of these items for patients, employees, and guests of the medical center. Attends department head meetings, maintains department budget, establishes and maintains policies and procedures in accordance with the Mission and Philosophy of CHI St. Alexius Health Turtle Lake Hospital.Essential Key Job Responsibilities
Attains completion of department goals/objectives as identified at last performance appraisal.
Assures development of programs, policies and procedures that respond to the changing times in healthcare: Policies and Procedures updated per policy; Innovative changes are made in department
Maintains positive representation of the department by demonstrating initiative in recognizing and responding to co-workers workload and assists in completing their assignments when feasible.
Ensures the Laundry Dept meets compliance with State Health Department with <2 deficiencies as well as internal safety/sanitation inspections.
Purchases linen and supplies using the most cost effective vendors while maintaining adequate linen inventory.
Launders linens to meet infection control regulation and hospital standards while preserving the life of the garment.
Maintains equipment in good working order and reports mechanical failures to Maintenance or Service personnel.
Maintains an adequate supply of clean linen at all times for the departments of the hospital and clinic.
Performs other duties as assigned.
