Responsibilities / Job Duties:

Support the Operations Manager with day-to-day responsibilities

A positive leader with the ability to be proactive in problem solving, making decisions, organizing and directing people, and utilizing coaching techniques for improving behaviors

Provide "Worry-free Service” to each customer every day

Learn, implement, teach, and execute the S7 Operating System

Ability to build strong relationships with customer contacts

Ability to promote a strong safety culture

Committed to teaching and promoting personal responsibility for identifying and performing safe behaviors and conditions

Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors

Work with administrative systems to meet deadlines

Set an example of professionalism and customer service

Create an environment where Team Members are committed to professionalism and cleanliness

Requirements/Qualifications:

In-depth knowledge of transloading and rail yard operations is a must

Hands on, hard-working, self-starter

Ability to hire and train Team Members

Must have leadership skills to ensure Team Members follow procedures at all times

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Ability to work with and perform basic computer operations (spreadsheet, word processor, and email operations), and general office organization

Good written and oral skills with an ability to communicate with co-workers, customers, and other company personnel

Dynamic personality to put safety first and lead Team Members

Hands-on experience with transloading and rail movements

Knowledge of local, state, and federal requirements

Desire and willingness to learn

Education/Experience

5+ years rail yard management experience preferred, but not required.

5+ years’ experience with transloading preferred, but not required.

College degree preferred, but not required.

Physical Requirements

This position is required to work outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions

Must be able to work outdoors in various climates for up to 12 hours

Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds on an occasional basis

Must be able to climb steps and ladders

Must have the ability to work, walk, and stand on uneven ballast surfaces for long periods of time

Position may require some travel for training purpose
