OverviewCHI Oakes Hospital, is a 20-bed critical access hospital that provides various inpatient and outpatient services to approximately 14,000 people in southeastern North Dakota. It is also a 24-Hour Emergency Level V Trauma Center. The hospital building was newly-constructed in 2007, replacing a 50-year old building, and in 2010, Oakes Community Clinic was opened within the hospital building. The hospital is part of a larger values-based organization, CommonSpirit Health.Position Details:

Clinic position

Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm

One Internal Medicine Physician and PRN APP coverage

No call expectation

Patient Care:

Diagnose and treat various medical conditions.

Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.

Conduct thorough medical examinations and histories.

Communication:

Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Provide clear and concise medical information.

Foster a collaborative and patient-centered approach to healthcare.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.

Document medical findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans.

Ensure compliance with coding and billing regulations.

Diagnostic Procedures:

Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab work and imaging.

Perform procedures as needed

Collaborate with specialists for further diagnostic evaluation.

Team Collaboration:

Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.

Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.

Provide consultative services to other healthcare providers.

Quality Improvement:

Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives.

Review and analyze clinical outcomes for continuous improvement.

Implement changes to enhance patient care and safety.

Compliance:

Adhere to ethical and legal standards in medical practice.

Stay informed about healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.

Participate in quality audits to ensure adherence to standards.

Continuous Learning:

Stay abreast of medical advancements and best practices.

Participate in ongoing medical education and training.

Contribute to the development of clinical protocols and guidelines.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program or Nurse Practitioner program

Board Certified and able to secure an unrestricted ND license and DEA

Candidate with ER post graduate experience or ER fellowship encouraged to apply

Current BLS, ATLS, ACLS and PALS.

New graduates with RN/EMT 5+ years of FT experience in Trauma, Emergency Medicine or ICU encouraged to apply

Possess excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
