Residential CoordinatorMonday through Friday, 8 - 5 PM; some nights and weekends required40 hoursThe employee in this position is responsible for people enrolled in a residential program.Essential Functions:Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Residential Services and/or Assistant Director of Residential Services, the duties include, but are not limited to:1. Assure that the services of the program meet standards set forth by CQL (Council on Quality and Leadership) in supports for People with Disabilities, The Center for Medicaid Services, and Department of Health and Human Services.

Staff Supervision

Interview applicants for DSP positions.

Orient and train new staff.

Ensure that staff are trained to implement agency policies and procedures.

Evaluate staff performance and provide feedback to staff to improve and enhance job performance.

Provide on-call 24-hour support.

Ensure adequate staffing patterns to meet the needs of people served.

Program Management

Assure that supplies and equipment as needed and appropriate are available to program staff and people served.

Oversee the meal service program.

Assure that meals are prepared and that meet prescribed nutritional needs of people served.

Assure that meals are prepared and served in an environment that is safe and sanitary.

Assure that people served are administered prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with agency policy and procedure.

Assure that agency health and safety procedures are in place, that staff are trained in their implementation and that needed supplies are maintained.

Maintain records in accord with agency policy and procedure.

Assure that the home is sanitary and clean.

Services to people enrolled in services

Assist people enrolled to assess their needs and desires for services.

Develop an appropriate plan of training and services. Monitor implementation and progress at least once per month and modify plans as indicated.

Ensure that the rights of residents are protected and that restrictions are imposed only with due process.

Assist people enrolled to manage their finances as requested and needed.

Ensure a program of recreation and leisure is in place, appropriate to the needs of each person and as prescribed their service plan.

Assist people to remain in contact with their families and friends and to plan for visits and vacations.

Support people to manage personal crisis. Conduct re-assessments as needed and modify plans to meet any life changes.

Ensure that records reflect services provided to each person, assessments and evaluation results, pertinent legal documents, basic data about the person, health history, results of plan implementation, and pertinent correspondence.

Support people served to have the best possible health. Coordinate healthcare services and keep people informed as to the status of their health and resources available to assist them.

Coordinate services internal and external to the agency.

Ensure that people have prescribed adaptive equipment that is kept in good repair and working condition.

Serve as primary contact with the family and other team members

Facilitate referrals. Provide tours and information to people and their families as to services provided.

Other duties as needed and appropriate.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree; preferably in human service field(including but not limited to: sociology, special education, rehabilitation, counseling, education, psychology, speech, communication, social work, developmental disabilities)

Developmental Disabilities module certification.

At least one year of experience in program planning and implementation

At least one year of supervisory experience

A valid North Dakota driver’s license and proof of insurance

A driving record that makes you insurable

Must complete a successful background check

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Bachelor's degree; preferably in human service field.

Knowledge of training and teaching methods and techniques for people with developmental disabilities

Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing

Knowledge and ability in the methods and techniques of supervision

Excellent organizational skills

Leadership skills in planning, organizing, coaching and teaching others.

Ability to assess needs and skills of people enrolled and develop a plan of services with each person’s team

Ability to work with families and guardians of people enrolled
