JSND Job Order #Hiam Dental in seeking a Front Desk Administrator;Position Summary: The Front Desk Administrator is responsible for providing excellent customer service to patients and visitors of Hiam Dental. The Front Office Administrator will complete a variety of support tasks and general office administrative duties in a professional and accurate manner.Responsibilities and Competencies: The following responsibilities and competency statements are essential functions of this position and are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this job function. These statements are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities. The person in this position may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned.Responsibilities:

Performs all duties within HIPAA regulations and safeguards protected health information and privacy of patients.

Demonstrates excellent customer service, organization and communication skills.

Greets patients and visitors in a kind and professional manner.

Answers and responds to all phone calls and patient requests and questions.

Maintains an accurate and organized schedule for the practice; schedules and confirms patient appointments.

Maintains a clean and organized front office and reception area.

Checks patients in and out accordingly.

Manages patient records, updates information and file paperwork.

Triages patients by phone for emergency appointments.

Actively participates in morning office meetings; communicates effectively to coworkers during meetings.

Performs all tasks as assigned by the doctor; supports coworkers as needed to ensure operational efficiency of the practice.

Continually looks for ways to improve individual and practice performance.

Gathers and accurately records dental, medical, insurance and HIPAA information from patients prior to treatment.

Securely handles, stores, files and scans patient information and records in compliance with HIPAA.

Prepares patient forms for the following treatment day; i.e. new patient forms, x-rays from other practices, etc.

Sends and receives record transfers.

Obtains and accurately records insurance information on patients.

Collects any patient fees and co-pays due the day of treatment and accurately applies those payments.

Prepares bank deposits daily.

Reviews and monitors past due accounts; contacts patients regarding past due accounts and accurately records communications with patients.

Prepares and sends patient billing statements.

Manages patient payment plans.

Understands and accurately applies account adjustments for courtesy credits and allowable discounts.

Determines accounts to be sent to collection agency in accordance with practice policy.

Processes end of day/month/year documents and reconciles daily deposits and payments.

Handles incoming mail

- Attends and participates in required training for improvement of job knowledge.Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; customer service experience in a medical field preferred. General office experience desirable.

Skills: Basic computer skills; ability to read, write and speak effectively; ability to do basic math all required.

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, and spend prolonged periods sitting at a desk, typing and working on a computer.
