At CHS, we are creating connections to empower agriculture.SummaryCHS Inc. is looking for and Logistics Specialist/ Energy Merchandiser to join our Ag Retail Energy Team. This role will be focused on merchandising and logistics around energy products.Ideal candidate will be located within our Plains and Valley region, in North Dakota or Minnesota. They will office out of one of our locations within the region.Responsibilities

Manage negotiations and contract preparation and execution through end-user customers coordinate day to day logistics activities expedite the transportation of products troubleshooting as needed

Monitor and analyze costs managing expenditures and planning for growth

Develop and maintain strategic carrier relationships aiding in effective management of logistical costs

Coordinate with Regional Supply Specialists and Operations management concerning mark to market procedures and DPR monitoring

Work closely with Regional Supply Specialists in all aspects of supply planning pricing contract execution marketing and risk management

Collaborate with Operations management in researching establishing and maintaining routing and dispatch execution route optimization cost containment and minimization of out-of-route and empty miles

Act as the communication liaison between Operations management terminal storage facilities GotoMarket sales team and customers to efficiently and economically meet product sales/delivery execution goals

Monitor the performance of product sales and perform the physical movements from respective plant location to product destinations

Manage and schedule truck and rail shipments of materials/products through collaboration with plant manager purchasing and transportation companies to ensure timely deliveries to our customers

Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies procedures and regulations Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions

Perform other responsibilities as needed or assigned

Minimum Qualifications (required)

2+ years of experience in Logistics, Supply Chain and/or Procurement

High School diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Systems Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field

Commodity and hedging experience preferred

Knowledge of the Co-Op systems

Experience in Transportation and/or Distribution

Proficient in MS Office suite

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Understanding of standard shipping practices, trucking, rail and container, preferred

Experience working with logistics tools preferred
