Job Description: Education Director for Youth and Sunday School
Overview: Provide leadership and manage the Pont Youth Program and Sunday School program for young people ages 3 to 12th grade
Duties:
1. Write and execute curriculum, activities and events that help children and youth as well as their families grow in faith so that they may live out their baptismal calling to build stronger relationships with family, community, church, and Jesus Christ. This will include leading participants in music.
2. Work with Pastor on Sunday School, Confirmation, and other Youth faith driven events
3. Communicate with the congregation and families in partnership with the secretary for bulletin, postcard and newsletter needs
4. Develop and implement a Christ centered Sunday school program for 3 yr to 6th grade students
5. Offer family and youth events
6. Coordinate the Christmas program
7. Coordinate and instruct VBS
8. Coordinate and implement 3 yr and 3rd grade bibles, 5th grade communion programs
9. Attend the triannual meetings and provide a report as needed.
10. Coordinate a youth program for ages 7-12 grade to involve the youth in church activities and community activities
Desirable knowledge, skills, or abilities
1. Strong faith in Jesus Christ
2. Experience with youth or family ministries
3. Experience motivating volunteers
4. Organizational and time management skills
5. Strong communication skills
Job type: Part time. Expected 15-20 hours per week
Pay: $20 per hour
Weekend and summer availability expected. Approximate schedule is August 15th to May 15th with 4 weeks added for month of June for VBS
