The ProgramThe KIPP North Carolina Teaching Fellowship is a two year program where Fellows gain experience and support to on-ramp into a Lead Teacher role.  During the program, Fellows are a co-teacher working alongside an experienced KIPP NC teacher-of-record who supports in their training and growth throughout their first years as a teacher.  While teaching full-time, Fellows will be required to enroll in an North Carolina approved Educator Preparation Program (EPP) that will provide additional pedagogical and content support and provide an alternative route to licensure.   Through KIPP NC’s coaching model, ample Professional Development opportunities, and immersion into the education sector, KIPP North Carolina Teaching Fellows grow quickly building a strong foundation for their education career.  Support Curriculum Development and InstructionHelp to adapt and execute rigorous, standards-aligned curriculaSupport teachers as they implement  academically rigorous lessons, unit plans, rubrics, and assessmentsProvide students with daily feedback on performance and plan for individual learning needsReceive guidance and materials from ELA / Math teachers on how to best support students who are strugglingHelp Build a Positive School and Classroom CultureEmbody and maintain school’s values, policies, and cultureDevelop positive relationships with students, families, teachers, and staffEstablish and maintain strong communication with all families and share progressAttend critical school events, including: staff meetings, open houses, family teacher conferences, and moreSupport school operations through classroom coverage needs and contributing to other out-of-classroom activities, including before school, lunch, recess, and afterschoolDemonstrate a Growth MindsetPursue challenging professional goals each yearGive and receive positive and constructive feedback with your colleaguesParticipate in school-wide and individual professional development
