Medical Technologists (also called Medical Laboratory Scientists) perform
analysis on patient specimens to assist in diagnosis and treatment. Performs
maintenance, quality control, and proficiency testing to meet compliance with
regulations and ensure the accuracy of results. Key responsibilities include:
1. Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection in the clinic and
hospital setting on all patient ages.
2. Instruct patient on specimen collection procedures.
3. Perform patient testing, quality control, and proficiency testing.
4. Perform routine and preventative maintenance on all equipment.
5. Communicate with provider and nursing regarding testing requirements,
options and results.
6. Demonstrate competency in all areas of testing.
7. Perform result enter, report printing, specimen processing and other
functions in LIS.Position Requirements: Bachelors degree in Medical Technology or related. Special Requirements:
Licensure by the State of North Dakota Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice
as a Medical Technologist.
