OverviewAs our Clinic LPN at CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson, you will provide nursing care to chronic and stabilized patients under the direction of the Registered Nurse; participates in each phase of the nursing process and may provide supervision to nurse aides; adheres to the performance standards established for this position.To succeed in this role, you must have genuine compassion for your patient’s well-being and understand your part in helping our patients feel at ease. You also have the patience to explain the process, answer questions and update documentation.CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson part of CommonSpirit Heath a national nonprofit health system based in Englewood Colorado. Interviews patients and records their medical history

Obtains and documents patient vital signs; reports abnormal findings promptly

Administers and documents administration of treatments and medications within scope of practice; may administer oral, topical, and suppository medications; administer injections, infusions, and blood transfusions; start IVs

Verifies that patient charts are updated promptly and accurately

Observes and records patients’ conditions and reactions to medications and treatments

Serves as a liaison between physician and patient; shares information and reinforces education and instructions provided by the care provider

Participates in admission and discharge process

Completes other duties within scope as assigned

QualificationsRequired Education and Experience

High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent required.

Completion of accredited LPN Program required.

1 year of experience is preferred.

Required Licensure and Certifications

Licensed Practical Nurse: ND required.

American Heart Association BLS required.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training

Candidates must be proficient with computers and computer applications in the healthcare setting.

Candidates must be able to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English.
