ResponsibilitiesCHI St. Alexius is looking for a Full Time Charge Capture Analyst to join the team!Every clinical department with the CommonSpirit Health acute care facilities will follow system standards for charge reconciliation and charge capture practices. Ultimately, the department director is responsible to ensure the revenue for services provided to their patients is accurate, timely and compliantly charged; and that clinical documentation supports the services charged. The director may delegate the duties. Highlights of these responsibilities are:

All services, which are identified as separately chargeable services, will be charged to the patient account.

The Director/Manager of each ancillary department is responsible for assuring that all charges are captured on a timely basis, that late charges are kept to a minimum and that daily charge reconciliation is performed.

Each department that manually keys charges (e.g., supply items, OR time, etc) shall identify at least two personnel responsible for keying charges, these persons shall be cross-trained, and measures put in place to assure that at least one person is always available, during the hours the department is open each day to key charges. It is preferred that all charges shall be keyed on the day the services are rendered, however, it is required that they be keyed within three days of the date of service.

If a department processes charges based on orders, all orders shall be reviewed on a daily basis to assure that uncompleted orders are completed and the appropriate charges processed.

Daily charge reconciliation will be performed in all ancillary departments that generate charges. If discrepancy in charges on a particular account is identified, it must be resolved the day it is identified. If the issue cannot be resolved on the day it is identified the Department Director must be notified.

Interventional Cardiology and Radiology services are particularly complex and can require specialized training and skill set. Where delegated due to this complexity, the duties of the incumbent include:

What you'll Do:

Complete compliant, accurate, timely charge process by daily completing charge entry (where not completed by orders or results functionality), charge reconciliation, and timely problem solving issues found during charge reconciliation. Page 1 of 5 Charge Capture Analyst - HVC JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for response to any internal and external charge audits for the department working to root cause omissions or issues causing revenue gaps

Work closely with leadership, physicians, nurses, technologists and other integral parties to uncover and discuss charging related opportunities, and provide education as needed. This includes department education related to CDM, Coding or charge practice updates.

From time to time, assist department director with appropriate operational policies and procedures that may be relevant to charge practices, compliance and revenue

Collaborate with revenue cycle departments such as Revenue Integrity, HIM and Coding as needed

Qualifications

Coding credential preferred, CIRCC credential a benefit . May obtain within 6 months of hire.

Ability to work independently to perform job duties and take initiative to improve workflows. Exemplary communication skills with multidisciplinary team

Associates or Bachelor’s degree in health information management or related field
