About Carrollwood Farms:
Carrollwood Farms is a family estate farm encompassing over 4,000 acres in Stokes and Rockingham Counties, North Carolina. We are dedicated to sustainable agriculture and operate various divisions, including vegetable farming, agronomy, construction, grounds maintenance, and soon, hospitality. We are passionate about giving back to the community, and in 2023, we donated over 2,200 pounds of fresh produce from our gardens.
Position Overview:
In this critical role, you'll play a vital role in keeping our farm machinery operating at peak performance. You'll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of equipment, ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of farm equipment and vehicles, including tractors, harvesters, irrigation systems, and more.
Diagnose and resolve issues with all systems on agricultural, forestry, excavation, and grading equipment (tractors, motor graders, bulldozers, backhoes, etc.).
Perform preventative maintenance on farm equipment, including filter and fluid changes, component testing and lubrication, and system adjustments.
Reassemble equipment after repairs, test functionality, and make necessary adjustments.
Manage farm equipment parts and shop tool inventory, ensuring proper working condition.
Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to identify equipment malfunctions.
Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other machinery.
Perform additional duties as assigned, which may include tasks outside of equipment maintenance.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of a certification program in heavy equipment maintenance and repair preferred.
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role, repairing and maintaining agricultural or construction equipment.
Proficiency in the use of a wide range of tools and diagnostic equipment.
Strong understanding of large machinery and diesel engine operation is a major plus.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team to solve problems effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong work ethic, a commitment to safety, and a positive attitude.
Ability to lift moderate to heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
ASE/ Other Mechanic Certifications preferred
CDL-A preferred
