Our school is seeking an individual with facilities maintenance and/or general
construction experience. Our full-time positions offer: Medical, dental, vision, retirement, and life
insurance benefits, paid holidays, vacation, and sick days, with typically consistent
working hours of Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m with a one- hour break for
lunch. We guarantee 40 hours per week, with the possibility of occasional overtime.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
General maintenance as assigned by Facilities Manager
Assist with testing, inspection, and maintenance of equipment, systems, and structures
Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines and plant facilities
Use a variety of hand and power tool equipment in performing duties
Perform basic plumbing and electrical repairs
Perform basic carpentry repairs as needed
Detect faulty operations, defective material and report these and any unusual situations to proper supervision
Assist with set-ups and take downs of stages, backdrops, sound systems, tables and chairs
Receive and distribute materials throughout the facility
Move items between locations and from/to storage, including furniture, equipment, and files
Direct traffic as needed
Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
Assist with special projects as assigned
Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
High School or Technical School education
Possesses skills in a related trade
Two years of experience in general building maintenance required. Specific experience/skills in a related trade (carpenter, electrical, plumbing) preferred.
Valid driver’s license required.
Clean background check required

Considerable judgment required to plan and perform unusual and difficult work where only general methods are available
Able to make decisions involving considerable initiative and ingenuity

Essential Functions:
Regularly required to walk, including across uneven ground, talk, hear, reach with hands and arms
Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the school and other facilities as needed
Must be able to bend, squat, and stoop
Some heavy lifting and considerable moving of equipment required
Lifting of objects up to 50 lbs.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Safety Glasses required while performing certain tasks
Work Environment:
Regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes and noise
Exposed to a combination of normal office-type environments and shop environments
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
