Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Demonstrates strong client service skills, teamwork, and collaborationApplies GMP/GLP/ISO 17025 compliance standards in all areas of responsibility, as appropriateRecognizes errors, identifies root causes, and applies process improvementsAssists in Method Development and execute method validation protocolsOversees sample preparation and analyses in support of product assessment and quality control on products utilizing one or more analytical techniques (e.g., HPLC, GC, ICP, mass spectrometry, smoking machines, or other special purpose equipment and/or multiple wet chemistry and physical techniques.)Assists in Method Development and executes method validation protocolsPerforms all testing with good dexterity, good laboratory techniques, and a high degree of accuracy and precisionMakes recommendations for technical improvements, as neededProvides analysis support for method validation as neededEnsures that the quality policy program is understood, implemented, and maintained at all levels of the organization; identifies, prevents, or corrects any departures from the quality systemPerforms work for both routine and non-routine work as specified by separate and applicable technical job descriptions for the individualDevelops and implements operational improvementsCoaches, trains, and develops others within the group with respect to their personal development and the effective implementation of operational improvementsCoordinates workflow and performs daily monitoring to meet TATConducts semiannual performance reviews, interviews applicants, keeps training records up to date for assigned employees, and performs succession planning in preparation for growthConfronts and addresses problems, concerns, and performance issuesCoaches and develops individuals and teams to maximize performanceFosters motivation and positive moraleMonitors and approves employees’ time worked through the time-entry systemExpands self-awareness and develops leadership skills as defined; attends applicable leadership training based on identified needsPerforms and/or assigns other duties as requested to ensure the smooth operation of the departmentProvides analysis support for method validation as neededEvaluates, reviews, and approves data by other analystsTrains new analysts in laboratory techniques and proceduresWrites, edits, and updates SOPs, WI and other documentationDocuments results appropriately in notebooks, LIMS, or on testing formsPossesses strong computer, scientific, quality orientation, and organizational skillsProvides clear feedbackCommunicates (oral and written) effectively and shows attention to detailKeeps accurate records, follows instructions, and complies with company policies
