Job Title: Scuba Diver Technician

Reports to: Dive Supervisor

Job Responsibilities:

● Responsible for representing J&J Boat Services in a professional manner while performing underwater hull cleaning and technical work on client’s boats

● Required to wear a uniform shirt, jackets, fleece, hats, beanies etc. (cost split @ 50% with company). Required uniform at your expense are black shorts, black / white socks and tennis shoes or flip flops. Dive equipment required at your expense is wetsuit, dry suit “if preferred”, mask, fins, weight belt, Dive light

● Primary duties include but are not limited to the following:

o Underwater Hull Cleaning–utilizing air compressors this process is done by starting from waterline down, cleaning all running gear: props, shaft, struts, trimtabs, rudders, bow thrusters, intakes and strainers, transducers, etc. etc. which will at times include dark water that limits vision

o Underwater Propeller Removal/Install – this process is done in-water with various hand tools and hydraulics to efficiently remove damaged propellers of many sizes up to 50’ in diameter. Line disentanglements are also part of the propeller work to free them up from obstructions

o Underwater Inspections –this process is done visually and typically with underwater lighting and either still or video feed to relay to the organization requesting the inspections. typically: marinas, boatyards, boat owners, insurance agencies.

o Zinc Anodes Inspection/Replacement- this process is done during cleanings and/or by itself with various hand tools on various areas of the vessels underwater metal components

o Dive Retrievals- this process done when someone drops an item in the water off of a boat, dock, seawall etc. to retrieve the items

● Responsible for maintaining excellent condition of all their assigned uniforms, tools, supplies & equipment.

● Must follow standardized business process and procedures and commitment to utilize company app for reporting.

● Individual must be fair weathered and dedicated year-round with the ability to put up with harsh weather.

● Individual must be able to swim and be comfortable in and around water.

● Individual must have no fear of diving in dark waters, low visibility with temperatures ranging by season from 85 to 40 Degrees.

● Individual must be physically able to dive in the above conditions as well as comfortable along with ability to lift at least 100 lbs.
