We are seeking a skilled and reliable Construction Worker to join our team, focusing on maintenance and renovation projects within our hospital facilities. This role is crucial for ensuring that our hospital environment remains safe, functional, and up-to-date to support patient care. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in general construction, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities:

Perform a variety of construction tasks, including but not limited to: demolition, carpentry, drywall installation and repair, painting, flooring installation, and basic plumbing and electrical work.

Assist in the construction and renovation of patient rooms, operating rooms, laboratories, and other hospital areas.

Conduct routine maintenance and repairs to ensure the structural integrity and functionality of hospital buildings.

Follow blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate and timely completion of projects.

Adhere to strict safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment, especially in sensitive areas like patient care units.

Collaborate with other members of the facilities management team, including electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and engineers.

Respond to emergency maintenance requests and resolve issues promptly to minimize disruption to hospital operations.

Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, regulations, and hospital policies.

Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and project progress.

Operate and maintain construction equipment and tools safely and effectively.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational training or certification in construction-related fields is a plus.

Proven experience in general construction, with specific experience in hospital or healthcare environments preferred.

Proficiency in a variety of construction skills, including carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, and basic plumbing and electrical work.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.

Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and safety standards.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor in various conditions.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Special Requirements:

Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.

Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

Must be able to comply with hospital infection control policies and procedures.
