Job Description:
Are you an experienced angler with a deep love for the ocean and a talent for teaching? If so, we're looking for you! As a Surf Fishing Guide, you will have the opportunity to share your knowledge and passion for surf fishing with a diverse audience, from beginners eager to learn the basics to seasoned anglers looking to hone their skills.
Responsibilities:
Lead surf fishing excursions for guests of all ages and skill levels, providing hands-on instruction and guidance.
Teach guests essential surf fishing techniques, including casting, bait selection, knot tying, and fish handling.
Foster a safe and inclusive environment, ensuring all guests feel comfortable and supported throughout the experience.
Share knowledge about local marine life, ecology, and conservation practices.
Adapt teaching methods to accommodate the learning styles and needs of individual guests.
Provide expert advice on tackle selection, equipment maintenance, and surf fishing best practices.
Assist with the setup and breakdown of fishing equipment and ensure all gear is properly maintained.
Uphold company standards for environmental stewardship and sustainable fishing practices.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a surf fishing enthusiast, outfitter, tour guide, or instructor preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences.
Extensive knowledge of surf fishing techniques, equipment, and local fishing conditions.
CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
Comfortable working in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and navigate uneven terrain.
