Looking for assistance on a small homestead to help with care of goats, chickens, two cats and a livestock guard dog.
Duties include but may not be limited to:
milking does
brushing
stall cleaning
refilling water
collecting eggs
chicken coop cleaning and maintenance
filling hay
picking up and storing hay
other general projects as needed
letting goats in or out of barn area (we free range)
We are open to different experience levels and can train so pay will be determined by experience. Ferrier skills and general knowledge about the care of goats would be a bonus since we have only been at this a couple of years.
We are flexible on timing but could use help a few times a week with daily chores. We also have a large garden and may need some help in there with weeding and general maintenance but this is not a requirement.
Additional work may include (if interested), helping with projects around the homestead. If you're hard working and would like to learn my husband is happy to teach as well. If you're in college and looking for a paid internship this could be a good option but not a requirement.
We pay well but would need to discuss how you would prefer to be paid as well since some of the duties might just be stopping in to do tend to the animals. Other days it may be larger chunks of time to help with specific projects. The biggest area we need help with is keeping the stalls clean, animals fed, brushed, clean water, etc. We can start there and see where it takes us.
Own vehicle required that fits hay and stall refresher bags.
Background check required
