Ports of Call Bistro in Southport is looking for a part-time host/hostess. The position focuses primarily on dinner shifts, but may also require lunch and Sunday Brunch shifts. Currently, shifts are needed for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday night shifts, and some lunch shifts as needed, and the Sunday Brunch shift. The position requires maturity, good representational skills, a cheerful demeanor, and performance as a key team player. In addition to greeting and seating guests, the position requires the ability to accurately record attendance and placement of reserved and walk-in guests. It also requires the ability to space and time seatings, so as to provide for a smooth flow of service throughout the shift. Also, to handle the phone and take reservations and transfer calls as needed, such as for take out and gift card purchases. At least two hosts/hostesses are employed by Ports of Call, so as to allow mutual shift back ups.
