Staff Accountant

Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Wilmington, Delaware. This role involves working with accounting principles to maintain general ledgers, perform reconciliations, and source revenue systems. As the Staff Accountant, you will be expected to understand debits and credits, and have a strong proficiency in Excel. Responsibilities Understand and apply basic accounting principles, including debits and credits Perform reconciliations, a significant part of this role Maintain the general ledger accurately and promptly Source revenue systems effectively Utilize Excel for a variety of accounting tasks Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role Have knowledge of Financial Reporting Automation, although this is not compulsory Handle accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) Perform bank reconciliations efficiently Prepare and record journal entries Complete month-end close procedures Use accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP. Requirements Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar position Proficiency in accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP Extensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Familiarity with Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, and Journal Entries Experience with Month End Close procedures Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
