IT Testing Center of Excellence ManagerLocation:Wilmington, Massachusetts2501414The Manager of Testing Centre of Excellence (TCoE) will oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the TCoE function. This role is responsible for managing a team of QA professionals to deliver on-demand testing services for multiple applications, technology stack, projects and initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid background in software testing, and a passion for driving quality and efficiency across projects. This role is stakeholders facing, requiring collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal service delivery.Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management:
Manage and mentor a team of QA professionals, including test engineers, automation experts, and manual testers.
Provide training and development opportunities for the team to stay current on industry trends and tools.
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the team.
Service Delivery & Operations:
Oversee the end-to-end testing lifecycle for software systems, from requirements gathering to test execution and reporting.
Develop and implement service-level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) for Testing as a Service.
Manage capacity planning and resource allocation to ensure timely and high-quality service delivery.
Maintain continuous communication with stakeholders to ensure their requirements are met and expectations are met.
Process Improvement & Innovation:
Continuously optimize testing methodologies and processes, with a focus on automation, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in software testing and quality assurance.
Drive the adoption of new tools and technologies to improve testing capabilities.
Implement innovative solutions for scaling and improving the TCoE model.
Stakeholder Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders utilizing TCoE, ensuring satisfaction and resolving any issues.
Work closely with product owners, developers, and other stakeholders to align testing strategies with business goals.
Provide regular reports to stakeholders on service performance, including metrics on quality, efficiency, and delivery.
Financial Management:
Develop and manage the TCoE budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
Monitor and report on the financial performance of the TCoE offerings.
Identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost savings within the service.
QualificationsRequirements:
BS / BA – Information Technology or related functional area
Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB).
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
12+ years of experience in software testing or quality assurance, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
Strong understanding of various testing methodologies (manual, automated, performance, security, etc.).
Experience with cloud-based testing solutions and familiarity with TCoE models.
Proficiency in modern test management tools (e.g., Selenium, JIRA, TestRail, etc.).
Excellent and proven track record of managing stakeholder
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience in building, leading, and scaling QA teams.
Solid financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and operational costs.
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.) and their testing ecosystems.
