Future relocation to Buffalo, NY , Wilmington, DE or Bridgeport, CT will be required to be fully considered for this opportunity.This role offers a hybrid work schedule; offering the flexibility to work remotely two days a week, while providing the opportunity for in-person collaboration.The Head of Data Marketplace, specializing in Data Marketplace management, plays a pivotal role in enhancing data discoverability and accessibility within the organization. This involves leveraging advanced marketplace design skills to create an intuitive and user-friendly platform where internal stakeholders can effortlessly access the data they require. The analyst is responsible for strategically integrating diverse data sources into the marketplace, ensuring a seamless and efficient user experience. Key responsibilities also include meticulous cataloging and metadata management to make data easily searchable and comprehensible. A significant aspect of their role revolves around establishing and maintaining high data quality and governance standards to uphold the marketplace's reliability and trustworthiness.The Head of Data Marketplace spearheads initiatives aimed at streamlining the acquisition of external data. They develop efficient and compliant processes for procuring external data sources, encompassing vendor evaluation, data quality assessment, and seamless integration into the internal data ecosystem. By optimizing these processes, the individual enables the organization to effectively enrich its internal data capabilities with valuable external insights, thereby promoting more informed decision-making throughout the enterprise.Responsibilities:

Data Catalog Management: Oversee the organization's data catalog, ensuring data quality and maintaining accurate data lineage information.

Data Marketplace Tools: Implement and maintain data marketplace tools, including platforms like Alation and Montecarlo, Informatica Marketplace to optimize data accessibility.

Integration of External Data: Facilitate the integration of externally acquired data (EDA data products) into the data marketplace, ensuring data consistency and usability.

Adoption and Best Practices: Drive the adoption of data marketplace management practices and educate the analyst community and stakeholders on the benefits and best practices associated with the data marketplace.

Provide direct management for a team responsible for data product management.

Responsible for the matrixed leadership of multiple cross-functional teams of stakeholders in technical and business worlds to develop a large data product from conception to launch and manage the product post-development.

Serve as liaison between business and functional areas and Technology to ensure business requirements are clearly defined, communicated, and well understood and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning, managing stakeholder relationship and prioritization requests.

Manage and accountable for a large data product and its integration into the greater data ecosystem including prioritizing across multiple agile teams and fixing any product issues with feedback from stakeholders.

Develop the data product strategy through development and maintenance of the data product roadmap, outlining the body of work expected now, next, and into the future.

Assist higher management in setting and measuring objectives and key results (OKRs) and assign OKRs to direct reports.

Understand client pain points to prioritize data product features that can drive the largest client impact.

Communicate data product vision to partners and drive alignment with business vision, strategy and deployment within the Company.

Champion the data product to the business showing business value of product and iterate product development based on stakeholder feedback and knowledge of data to continue to generate value for the business.

Define stories and prioritize the team backlog for multiple teams working to support a single product to streamline the execution of program priorities, conform to agile practices.

Prioritize product delivery of direct reports to meet business requirements at a sustainable cadence.

Exercise usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management and terminations.

Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.

Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.

Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

Complete other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years’ related experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 11 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 7 years’ related experience.

Robust understanding of full-cycle product development within an Agile framework.

Knowledge of statistics, data science techniques and tools, and multiple relational databases.

Knowledge and application of data architecture concepts.

Experience with the application of data governance practices.

Demonstrated experience working with data products.

Proven experience pulling, wrangling, and querying database using data analytic tools.

Ideal Qualifications:

15+ years in product management and data acquisition.

Data Marketplace Experience: Demonstrated experience with data marketplace solutions and proficiency in utilizing data governance tools.

Data Catalog Expertise: Familiarity with data cataloging, data quality, and data lineage concepts.

Project Management Skills: Strong project management and communication skills to effectively lead and influence cross-functional teams.

Passion for Data Excellence: A commitment to maintaining the highest data quality and governance standards to ensure the marketplace's reliability and effectiveness.

Minimum of 5 years’ data product experience.

Fintech experience.

Demonstrated experience working with data products, in an active role in helping build them (engineering, design, data, marketing, or similar).

Experience writing technical stories in agile project tracking software using industry standard notations.

Understanding of specific domains as required by assignment.

Proven experience using change management best practices for adoption of product changes within a specific user group.

PROSCI Change Management certification.

CSPO certification (Certified Scrum Product Owner).

The pay range for this position is $127,274.43 - $212,124.05 Annual (USD).
