Position: DishwasherDepartment: Food and BeverageReports To: Kitchen SupervisorFLSA Status: Part-time/Hourly/NonexemptSummaryThis position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for china, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, and other kitchen items utilizing machine and manual cleaning methods. This position also ensures the kitchen, dishwashing area, and remote dish areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glassware, tableware, and other cooking utensils, place them in proper dish machine racks, and ensure that these items are run through the dish machine efficiently.

Sort and stack clean items from the dish machine. Deliver clean items to their proper storage areas.

Wash pots, pans, and trays by hand, filling and emptying the soaking tub with cleaning/sanitizing solutions.

Segregate and properly dispose of trash, garbage, and recycling. Clean and sanitize waste cans.

Sweep/mop floors on a regular basis. Clean up any spills or trash to ensure the kitchen floors remain safe and dry.

Notify the Kitchen Supervisor when the dish machine washes, or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures.

Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and kitchen or remote work areas.

Assist Cooks with food assembly during high production events.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

High school diploma or GED.

3 months related experience in a restaurant or commercial kitchen environment.

Knowledge of basic food service health codes and sanitation standards.

Skills and Abilities

Ability to work effectively under pressure within stringent schedules and varying priorities.

Ability to follow directions accurately both written and verbal.

Ability to work independently, exercising judgment and initiative as needed.

Ability to work well in a team environment to ensure that effective event support is provided.

Ability to maintain proper grooming and dress code standards for the kitchen.

Other Qualifications

Available to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
