Job Overview:Fountain Electric is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Electrical Designer/CAD Operator Intern to join our Design and Engineering Department. This department plays a critical role in creating electrical layout drawings, facilitating Building Information Modeling (BIM) coordination, and supporting pre-fabrication designs for our electrical construction projects. As an intern, you will work closely with experienced professionals and gain hands-on experience in drafting, design coordination, and pre-construction planning.Electrical Layout Drawings:
Assist in creating and revising electrical layout drawings using CAD software.
Collaborate with design and project teams to ensure accurate and complete layouts that meet project requirements.
BIM Coordination:
Support the integration of electrical systems within BIM models, ensuring coordination with other trades.
Review and update BIM models to reflect design changes or field conditions.
Pre-Fabrication Design:
Assist in preparing detailed pre-fabrication drawings to streamline on-site installation.
Work with field teams to ensure pre-fabrication designs align with site requirements.
Document Control:
Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and related documentation.
Ensure accurate version control and documentation for all design files.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and field teams to gather information needed for designs.
Participate in coordination meetings and provide input on design solutions.
Software Utilization:
Use AutoCAD or other relevant CAD software to develop and refine electrical layouts.
Support BIM processes using tools such as Revit or Navisworks (training provided if needed).
Qualifications:
Education:
Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Drafting/Design, Construction Management, or a related field.
Skills:
Basic experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) is required.Familiarity with BIM processes and software is a plus, but not required.Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, high-quality work.Effective communication and organizational skills.
Experience:
