If you want to take responsibility for an accounting and clerical department, Robert Half is looking for a Controller to join a successful company. The Controller will be a permanent employment opportunity and will be located in the Southern Pines, North Carolina region. You might be a good fit for this position if you can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash

Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis

Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports

Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation

Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques

Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed

Check deliverables of self and team to certify they meet client expectations Requirements - Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued

Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

Strong attention to detail

Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines

Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred

Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required

BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills

Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail

Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

Golf carts experience

Full Cycle Accounting experience

Deep understanding of Hospitality management

Command of month end closings
