This position is responsible for services to Greene County families by protecting children who have been alleged to be abused or neglected or are dependent. Provision of protective services includes the following: investigating and evaluating all reports of suspected child abuse and neglect; identifying children at risk; helping families or responsible caretakers recognize problems which lead to neglect and/or abuse; making appropriate referrals to community agencies as needed; cooperating with law enforcement agencies as necessary for the care and safety of children and initiating court action and follow-up supervision when necessary and appropriate. Counseling with preventing problems causing abuse or neglect. This position will serve in the after-hours on-call rotation.Education and Experience
Master's Degree from an accredited school of social work and one year of social work experience; or a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school of social work and two years of social work or counseling experience; or a Master's Degree in a counseling field and two years of social work or counseling experience; or graduation from a four-year college or university and four years experience in rehabilitation counseling, pastoral counseling or a related human service field providing experience in the techniques of casework, group work or community organization or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
