Wolfspeed is looking for a Sr. Process Engineer to join our Wafer Operations Process Engineering team at the world’s largest silicon carbide manufacturing complex in Siler City, North Carolina.In this role you will drive continuous improvement in the Global Materials organization through focused initiatives on yield, cycle time, and cost reduction. You will utilize data to drive actions and own multiple projects that improve the equipment and process overall effectiveness.This posting is for a position that will directly support operations at the John Palmour Manufacturing Center for Silicon Carbide, our expansion site in Siler City, NC. The person in this role will train at our Durham, NC headquarters initially.The Day-to-Day: Manage capital expansion projects from budgeting to installation to productionOwn continuous improvement projects aimed at yield, cycle time, and cost reductionResponsible for tracking and improving critical process metricsAnalyze data using sound statistical methodology to drive improvements in equipment and process metrics Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) teams that drive to true root cause and implement effective Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPAs)Create and maintain documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions (WI)Work closely with the Equipment Engineering team to drive reliability, yield, & other improvementsThis Job is Right for You if You Have:A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Preferably Mechanical, Chemical, Material Science, Electrical, Industrial, or related)5+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably semiconductor5+ years in manufacturing, equipment, or process engineering roleWorking knowledge and experience of applied statistics (SPC/DOE) and structured problem-solving methods such as 8D, 5 whys, A3 and DMAIC in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated organizational and communication skills Demonstrated ability to work with a high level of autonomy and as part of a team, taking ownership of tasks and projectsAct as a teacher and mentor to Jr. Engineers within the departmentWilling to work in non-cleanroom and cleanroom type environmentsExperience with highly automated material handling systemsMS Office suite proficiencyPreferred Qualifications:Front-end Semiconductor substrate processing experienceThis role may require additional duties and/or assignments as designated by management.This role requires the lawful ability to access technical data, information, and areas controlled by United States export control laws and regulations.
