Caterpillar Inc. is seeking individuals for the Heavy Structures Design Engineer (internally known as Senior Design Engineer). In this position, you’ll play a pivotal role in the design and development of essential components for our compact track and skid steer loaders.As a Heavy Structures Design Engineer at Caterpillar, you’ll be at the forefront of innovation, responsible for crafting concepts that not only meet but exceed customer expectations for performance, durability, quality, and serviceability. Utilize Creo Simulate and other advanced FEA software to analyze and optimize design, ensuring structural integrity and performance excellence.

Bring your expertise in heavy fabrication and structures design to the table, contributing to the development of robust and reliable components.

Put your structural validation design and testing experience to work, conducting thorough assessments to validate design integrity and durability.

Demonstrate your project management skills as you oversee the lifecycle of design projects, ensuring they stay on track and meet deadlines.

Leverage your proficiency in product cost estimation and modeling to drive efficiency and cost-effectiveness in design solutions.

What You Have (Basic Qualifications):

Degree: bachelor’s degree from an accredited engineering curriculum.

Technical Excellence: Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing Creo or other FEA software, showcasing your ability to analyze and optimize design for structural integrity and performance.

Product Design: Proven experience in designing heavy fabrications and structures, highlighting your expertise in developing robust and reliable components for heavy machinery or similar applications.

Managing Multiple Priorities/Project Management: Track record of successfully managing design projects from conception through completion, showcasing your ability to keep projects on schedule and within budget.

Top Candidates Will Have :

Analytical Thinking: Ability to approach design challenges with a logical and analytical mindset, enabling you to identify and solve complex problems efficiently.

Effective Communication: Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, convey technical information clearly, and drive alignment towards project goals.

Mentorship: Previous mentorship skills, capable of guiding people/projects towards common goals and inspiring excellence in performance.
