Job Summary

Plumbing & Mechanical Corp. of North Carolina, INC. is seeking a skilled Sewer/Water Underground Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be familiar with running both water and sewer lines.

Responsibilities:

Installing and repairing underground water and sewer lines

Ensuring all work adheres to safety standards and local codes.

Trenching, operating heavy equipment, and installing underground pipes.

Installing and maintaining underground pipes in accordance with plumbing codes.

Performing trenching and excavation work.

Troubleshooting and diagnosing issues related to underground plumbing systems, including leaks, blockages, and pipe failures.

Interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and schematics to plan and execute plumbing work accurately.

Call in 811 tickets as needed and check status.

Call in City of Raleigh camera locate tickets.

Coordinate with builders on inspections.

Adhering to company and jobsite safety rules.

Requirements:

Precision, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of plumbing codes and standards.

Flexibility is required as job demands may change

Qualifications:

Proven experience in running water and sewer lines.

Knowledge of plumbing utilities and underground work.

Knowledge of 811 call before you dig

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, sit, and lift for extended periods.

Proficiency in using arms and hands for signaling, grasping, holding, turning, pushing, and pulling objects, materials, controls, and tools.

Capable of lifting, carrying, and moving up to 50 lbs.

Comfortable working at heights, including climbing ladders and stairways, and occasionally on platforms/scaffolding with appropriate fall protection.

Tolerant of all weather conditions (heat, rain, cold, and wind) while wearing required PPE.

Consistent use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.

Requirements:

A valid, insurable NC driver’s license is required.

3-4 years of experience in the plumbing and related field

Bilingual is a plus!

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
