Job Summary
Plumbing & Mechanical Corp. of North Carolina, INC. is seeking a motivated and reliable New Construction Plumbing Helper to join our team. We are looking for an individual who is eager to learn and assist our lead plumbers in all phases of residential new construction plumbing, including slab, rough-in, and trim work. The ideal candidate will be familiar with these phases and capable of providing effective support to ensure smooth project execution.
Responsibilities:
Assist lead plumbers in installing plumbing systems in new residential construction according to blueprints and local codes.
Support slab work, including helping with groundwork and installing under-slab piping.
Aid in executing rough-in plumbing, including assisting with water supply and drainage systems.
Help complete trim work, such as installing fixtures, faucets, and appliances.
Learn and apply quality and safety standards for all plumbing installations.
Collaborate with lead plumbers and other construction professionals to ensure project completion.
Qualifications:
Some familiarity with the slab, rough-in, and trim phases of residential plumbing is preferred.
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under the guidance of a lead plumber.
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
Basic understanding of plumbing tools and materials.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable transportation.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, sit, and lift for extended periods.
Proficiency in using arms and hands for signaling, grasping, holding, turning, pushing, and pulling objects, materials, controls, and tools.
Capable of lifting, carrying, and moving up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable working at heights, including climbing ladders and stairways, and occasionally on platforms/scaffolding with appropriate fall protection.
Tolerant of all weather conditions (heat, rain, cold, and wind) while wearing required PPE.
Consistent use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory
Requirements:
A valid, insurable NC driver’s license is required.
3-4 years of experience in the plumbing and related field
Bilingual is a plus!
Expected hours: 30 – 50 per week
